IXO Teatroa is a company formed by Arnatz Puertas and Luix Mitxelena. After completing their studies at Dantzerti, the Basque School of Dramatic Arts, and after both being part of the Youth Company of Pabellon 6, they decided to build a professional path together.
Both have always shared a passion for telling stories through gestural comedy. Through physical theater, they want to bring to the stage social conflicts, personal reflections and, in short, their way of seeing life and understanding human beings. All this without using words, of course, through the body.
Arnatz Puertas is an actor who graduated in Dantzerti, the Basque School of Dramatic Art. He joined the Youth Company of Pabellón 6 , where he played the role of Ramón With the work Ubú, rey de las finanzas (2019), directed by Ramón Barea. He worked with the same company as Todo saldrá bien (2020) and Rey desnudo y chico muerto (2021) in the productions; both written and directed by Iñigo Cobo. In recent years, we have been able to see him in the following productions: Agur, Otxoa Feroz (2024), a BBK production directed by Getari Etxegarai; La Lucha por la Vida (2024), a Arriaga Theatre production directed by Ramon Barea and Kristalezko Zooa (2025), another Arriaga Theatre production; the latter directed by Natalia Menendez. In addition, in terms of audiovisuals , the most notable are the series Intimidad (2024) produced by Netflix and Itxaso (2024) produced by ETB and K2000 . Arnatz made his directorial debut with Eros (2024), his first production for the IXO Teatroa company.
The actor Luix Mitxelena studied dramatic arts at the Dantzerti University in Bilbao. He is workingwith La Dramática Errante under the direction of Maria Goiricelaya in the R&J play. Other notable works include Neke Asko eta Ezer ez (2023), directed by Iñaki Rikarte at Dantzerti, and Komedia Madarikatua (2023), directed by Saioa Iribarren from the Gazte Konpainia in Pabellón 6. After founding the IXO Teatroa company with Arnatz Puertas and touring with the play Eros (2024), they has premiered Harea (2026) this year. He has also worked on several audiovisual projects. The most significant would be the film 8 (2025), directed by Julio Medem. He has also participated in several short films: Deserri (2022) by Imanol G. Gurrutxaga, Ütlandsk (2023) by Alba Lozano and Lehergailu Termobarikoa (2025) by Ander Iriarte. He has also been a director of the plays Zorioneko (2023), Julieta ETA Romeo (2024) and Zuhur eta Lur (2025).
